Scoville Rating - 3,750

Everyone who likes hot sauce knows about Tabasco. There is something so addictive about this sauce. The label says "it takes 3 years to make the unique flavor." They probably mean: it takes 3 years for the vinegar we use to age. In any case, their mix of distilled vinegar, red pepper, and salt is just right.

The company claims you can put this on anything. I did at one point, but I think my tongue got numb. In my opinion, this hot sauce is best on anything greasy. I put Tabasco hot sauce on 3 things now: Domino's pizza, fried potatos, and french fries.

Tabasco hot sauce is usually sold in 5fl oz bottles. The Scoville scale is a rating system to measure the "hotness" of a chile pepper. This rating is more a selling point among hot sauce companies. I am told habaneros hot sauce is the hottest. Well, it only makes sense since the habaneros pepper has a Scoville rating of more than 300,000.
