Cho Sun Ok provides an authentic Korean meal in Chicago. Cho Sun Ok, very popular among Koreans in Chicago, is known for cooking meals in a stone pot. I would recommend you order their dish called "Cha Dol Guiee". You cook slices of beef in the stone pot and eat it with a sauce provided. This sauce is a mixture of sesame oil, salt, and pepper. This is typically eaten with the marinated scallions and kimchi dish provided. After you are finished with the beef, the waitress will cook up the rice portion in the same stone pot mixing some spicy sauce and left over side dishes on your table. You will leave happy and full.

The service varies depending on how busy the restaurant is. I typically like to go when the restaurant is not so busy so the ladies will cook everything for me so all I have to do is worry about eating. Remember to ask for any additional side dishes that you like... these are complimentary.

Cho Sun Ok is quite busy during the weekend evenings and it is not uncommon to see a crowd outside the entrance. In addition to Cho Sun Ok being popular with Korean adults, Cho Sun Ok is a very popular place among the college kids.

I go to Cho Sun Ok at least twice a month. I definitely recommend Cho Sun Ok for a unique Korean dining experience.
